JENNA LYONS IN THE NEWS

Here is an article from Huffingtonpost.com about Jenna's latest news.
"Things have been getting messy as Jenna Lyons, as the J. Crew creative director, navigates an ugly divorce from husband Vincent Mazeau. But she can take solace in a new love interest -- Jenna's got a new leading lady.
The New York Post reveals that Lyons has been seeing Courtney Crangi, sister of celebrity jeweler Philip Crangi.
The newspaper previously hinted that Jenna's latest love interest was a female connected to the fashion industry and Crangi certainly fits the bill. As her brother's business partner, Courtney heads up the Philip Crangi brand as CEO and has seen her brand win the coveted CFDA Award for accessories in 2008.
She also is a girl about town, snapped by society photographers at a variety of events... often with Lyons..."

CITI MINI

There was a Jcrew City Mini skirt in bright dahlia, well made from a soft wool flannel with accordion pleats at the waist in bright color to add a "color punch" to any outfit. In my opinion, because this skirt is in a statement making color everything else paired with it should be toned down leaving the skirt in the center of attention it craves.
It couldn't decide if it wanted to be dressed up or down. Here I tried a few outfit options to dress it down but to still look well put together sort of something I would wear for a kid's birthday party to attend with my 4 year old. I want to look comfortable and be able to move around after my daughter and yet still to look "fashionable". I paired this skirt with a black Sonia Rykiel sweater, black tights and Chanel patent leather flats.
Then, the skirt wanted to dress up a bit. I added a sparkling necklace, black pleated collar and cuffs  Jcrew shirt (2009) and black classic Christian Louboutin pumps.

And same look but maybe trying it with a skinny belt  to add a "center"

MATINEE TRENCH

This is another splurge or damage (whichever way you want to look at it) I made during 25% OFF promotion. Matinee trench in Navy. I own an Icon trench in khaki from last year and very happy with it, however always miss a hood on it. I always seam to be running around either running errands, running to pick up my daughter from pre-K or running to Jcrew. So because I'm always on the go and in the car owning a rain coat with a hood makes it a whole lot easier for me not to carry around an umbrella so as to have my hands free.
This seams to be a perfect rain coat. It is cotton twill material which is very light, its dark color (perfect for running around) and it has a hood. It is a structured shape making it very stylish and is very well made. There is a lot of attention to detail. The trench has a "silver" hardware zipper closure with "silver" snaps, a waist belt and buckles at cuffs.
The fit I feel is on a looser side. I ordered my usual size in Jcrew coats and feel that I have just enough room to wear a sweater underneath. In comparison my Icon trench is the same size and feels snug compare to this fit.
Overall I think it is a very cute rain coat and I was very happy about getting a navy one being that it perfectly matches to my Burberry rain boots that have a navy outline. Yei!!!!

THE NEWEST ARRIVALS (not yet online)

These are just some of the new arrivals that will be here soon. I just came back from my Jcrew store that is already setting up for Holiday!!! They get new arrivals two weeks before anyone else so I feel very lucky to be near here. The store was full of Jcrew personnel working on setting up the store for Holiday decor, decorating it and styling. I call this "set-up" team "walking Jcrew catalog models". They are all dressed Jcrew and the styling is impeccable: the latest, the trendiest and always with a personal touch to make it unique. Love it! I get a lot of styling inspiration from them.
The store wasn't fully set up yet but I could see some of the newest arrivals. Overall colorful, textured and so Jcrew! The Talia silk blouse (aka Boatneck Silk Top) is now going to be available in leopard print as well!!! And it will also be in a dress in the same leopard print (think long sleeve, floaty, dolman sleeve type ). Some new sweaters Fair Isle in a VERY thick knit, some cute ones with a heart in a front in many different color combos (red/pink, navy/green, black/navy). Some new tweed pencil skirts that I already so online but also one that I don't remember ever seeing which is simply gorgeous in brown plaid pencil skirt with a high waist and a bow at the waist...just gorgeous and LINED too!!! I saw some coats (wool trench style) in the store but not many, maybe they are still unpacking the merchandise. I'm going back there Thursday to pick up a suit they are tailoring for me so I'll post more pics.
I just love Holiday season, it's exciting! I don't know about you guys but I almost wait for something magical to happen....We'll see!!!!

SWEATER AFFAIR

As much as I LOVE and OBSESS about Jcrew on daily bases I do admit sometimes I do have an affair with someone else, sorry Jcrew but lately I crave more from sweaters than what you can offer me at the moment. These are just a few of sweater to lust over. As the cold weather is coming closer I crave a chunky sweater to cuddle up in and keep me warm. Sometimes I need more from a sweater than just a "jewel"color or a different collar type; there are only so many crewnecks and v-necks one might own. Lately, I crave a sweater that is more structured, beautifully detailed and effortlessly chic.

OBSESSIONS OF A "JCREW OBSESSED"

My latest obsession OWL. There is a really amazing website Paper-source.com which has ALL things paper and more. There is personalized stationery, rubber stamps, journals, boxed note and memo pads and writing instruments. I love stationery, journals, note pads, agendas and can spend hours on their website looking through EVERYTHING!
OWL has been appealing to me lately and after all it has been seen on some Greco-Roman currency as a symbol of status, intelligence and of course, wealth.1.Owl coin bank (never too late to save some money) 2.Holiday cards "Happy Owlidays" (is what my friends and family will receive this holiday season) 3.Owl rubber stamp (for arts&crafts time with my daughter) 4.Owl  note pads (great for to do lists, shopping lists and memos)

JCREW COLLECTION MINNIE PANT IN ITALIAN WOOL

A lot of posts have been devoted to Jcrew items in general, some are a win and some not so much. This pant creation from Jcrew is simply FABULOUS. I own 3 different types of Minnie pants: strech twill in black, bi-stretch wool in grey and italian wool in black. I love them all. They are always THE pants to go to for me, somehow they look good with everything and I came to reallize that it is because of a great fit. These minnie pants in wool are particularly dear to me because of the ankle zippers! I just LOVE ankle zippers on pants, zippers on sleeves of jackets (last year's tweed motorcycle style jacket from Jcrew with zippers on sleeves and pockets is still my all time favorite!).

Jcrew describes it as a very slim pant woven in two-stretch wool from Italy, with a  cropped vintage style, just above the ankle, with zipper detailing. Italian wool/Lycra® spandex. Belt loops. Back zip. Nonfunctional back welt pockets. Part of J.Crew Collection. 27" inseam.
They fit true to size and meant to be worn fitted. The look is very polished and slick. They work well with heels and flats alike because of their cropped length. The fabric is amazing! It is sort of a combination of twill and wool, feels slightly thicker than the bi-stretch wool Minnies and lighter than stretch twill ones. The pants fit true to size creating a very nice fitted look that looks great paired with airy blouses on top as well as with fitted sweaters and/or classic button down shirts. I love a tailored masculine look overall and this pair of Minnie pants create just that look I always crave. And just like another blogger I follow said: "The Minnie is genius", check out her blog which I LOVE to follow http://threecsofnyc.blogspot.com/ for some great reviews of Jcrew, New York and restaurants.

Awesome job Jcrew on this one! Thank you!

Pictures of my outfit ideas wearing this pair of Minnies will be coming up shortly...Sorry ladies, I have to wait for my hubby to come home from work to snap these pics of me, I just realized I don't have not one full size mirrow in my whole house...crazy! Oh wait, but I do have a whole gym room in the basement with mirrows wall to wall, ceiling to floor but then again who wants to go there, would feel guilty and will have to work out...hmm it's OK 6pm doesn't seam that far away =)))))))
