The Boat Blouse in Silk

My Jcrew store in GSP Paramus, NJ had these out for about a week already so I actually bought mine a week ago and it was love from the first sight for me. I bought the Boat Blouse in silk in classic Navy (wreath is a beautiful green as well but the color didn't agree with my complexion). I love this blouse. The silk is somewhat similar to Blythe blouse but softer if that makes sense. It feels VERY nice and soft to the touch. The cut is beautiful, with a puffy sleeve and a long arm, a back keyhole button closure. It is simply gorgeous in my opinion! I would definetly wear this blouse out for a dinner or a night out. Also as far as sheerness goes, it is not all that sheer as I expected. In the pics where I pair it with a skirt I'm wearing a beige/nude bra so you can see it shows thru somewhat but later I put on a black bra and the top wasn't see thru at all.
Here are some of my outfit ideas.

Pictures #1 and #2 paired with a silk Jcrew skirt from a few seasons ago that I don't even remember its name anymore but loved none the less. Similar look can be achived with any of Jcrew pencil skirts especially for some interesting color combinations...

Pictures #3,4,5 paired with my beloved bi-stretch twill minnies in Black.
I found the Blouse fits true to size. I would NOT suggest to size up because this is my regular size in Jcrew tops (10) and it has that slouchy look to it, so if you would prefer a more fitted look don't be afraid to go down a size, especially if you are not big on top to begin with. I actually would want to try it in a size smaller when in store just to compare the fit and the length of sleeves. It's a definite A from me Jcrew! =)

The Merino Pleated Skirt

The Jcrew Merino skirt. I really loved it from the first time I saw it in a store because of the pleats, stretchy and comfortable material and the longer length or and of coarse because of the color - it's not black like most of the items I own. Here are a few outfit ideas I put together with this skirt. I feel it runs TTS. I'm wearing size Medium. This skirt doesn't have any zippers, any buttons and it is lined! I found it is very easy to wear.
Picture#1. In this first picture I'm wearing this skirt with a silk Lucinda blouse in Vibrant flame.
Picture #2. I paired it with my latest obsession Lady Lace Popover in Heather Graphite. I just looove this sweater. It's lace in fine merino yarn laid over chiffon, I don't see any resemblance to a "sweatshirt" like Jcrew refers to it on its website (at least its not the kind of sweatshirts I'm used to) and the sweater is not itchy at all.
Picture #3. I paired merino with cashmere =) Wearing a v-neck cashmere Jcrew sweater in Heather citrus.
Picture #4. Here I'm wearing it with a Jcrew chambaray shirt and Jcrew brown leather belt.
Picture #5. And finally paired with silk Blythe blouse and a Jcrew patent leather skinny belt.

I hope you enjoyed my little fashion show =) and I hope it gave someone an idea for a new outfit!!!!
I love to read comments so please do post your thoughts! Thanks

DENIM & CORDS 20% OFF EVENT

Jcrew is offering 20% OFF DENIM & CORDS priced as marked on Jcrew.com only until September 14, 2011. It's a great opportunity to get that pair of jeans you've been eyeing because we know Jcrew doesn't offer too many denim styles in their sale section. I personally LOVE toothpics, I think the fit is great, it's stretchy just enough to hug the body in the right places and I honestly have to say that the denim toothpics I bought about 2 months ago didn't stretch out in the knee area yet (yei...happy) which always seams to be the problem for me. I also really like the toothpic cords I got during CARDHOLDER's 20% OFF promo with ankle zippers (i'm obsessed with zippers lately)...btw this makes me think of the FACTORY cords with ankle zippers that I bought recently for much cheaper at Jcrew Outlet store. Hmmm, I haven't compared the two yet side by side but am very curious about the similarities/differences between the two. I should write a post on it...Coming right up!

My Latest "Obsessions"

Ok so here are some looks from my recent order...I think I went crazy with that 20%OFF cardholder's discount. It seams to me that I pretty much ordered everything from each category. I know I need help but the fellow Jcrew Obsessed friends could relate to me, right? I hope =) I just couldn't wait to put my hands on these beautiful FALL New arrivals: the cashmere sweaters, cords, pencil skirts....Ahhhhh. So here are the pics of my "outfits put together under 5 minutes", and I mean it, that's all my hubby had patience for...can't blame him. Sorry, but my 4 year old HAD to be part of the fashion show as well, nothing pretty much goes on anymore without her being in the center of attention but she is also wearing Jcrew Crewcuts flip flops and a tshirt dress. Don't you just love her poses, though! She is a rock star, this one, toooo funny =))) At least my other one is only 7 months old, but oh boy what's ahead of me...
I have on a tweed pencil skirt in navy and the newest polka dot silk ruffle cami.

I ordered a matching Vintage Tweed Jacket in Navy to go with a skirt but I'm not feeling it...too boxy maybe? it's a pretty thick tweed material.
My latest obsession is this Betsy sweater in Heather Aqua...just LOVE how soft it is (blend of cashmere and wool) paired with a pleated merino skirt. I think this skirt is rather flattering.
Here I paired the merino skirt with a Cambridge Shoulder Zip crewneck sweater and a Jcrew patent leather belt (from a few seasons ago)...I think the all-over-camel color (Jenna's Do's =) is pretty nice. I would definetly wear it like that.
This is the Hadley sweater in Heather graphite with button detail on the shoulders....not sure about this one... it's a pretty heavy weave not your soft cudly type of a sweater. I paired it with this season's toothpick cords with ankle zippers in Navy (had to size up 1 size this year in them but still fit into my old one's from last year...go figure) and suede Metropolitan ankle booties from last year.

Love this color!!!! This is a cashmere boyfriend cardigan in Bright Dahlia. So soft and the fit is not boxy at all very fitted but true to size. I'm wearing size M here and btw all my sweaters are size M. Also, have on my favority Jcrew pearl necklace with a black ribbon tie.

Here I have on Minnie pants in twill black (love) and the latest Italian Cashmere Shawl cardigan (item#42261P) in Heather Grey. Sooo soft and drapes very nicely, I showed a different way to drape it in the next pic.
Sooo, that's all the time I had so far....but I promise there is more in my closet =))))))) I am after all JcrewObsessed =))) stay tuned......

HAPPY SEPTEMBER EVERYONE!!!!

Jcrew sent out an email about the new styles added to SALE section! Great news, I love a good bargain. I'm off to check out the sale but honestly can't wait for the newer FALL styles to go on sale, I love everything in the new collection but the prices, auch! It's OK soon enough....
