The Review of Lieutenant Jacket

Here are the pics of my lieutenant jacket. As you can see in the first 2 pics I like to wear it with sleeves rolled up and color standing up. Also, notice that I actually like to button up 1 middle button to "create" an illusion of a waist line on this jacket. I took some pics with sleeves rolled down and jacket unbuttoned so that you can see it has a boxy shape. The sleeves have buttons so it's very easy to roll them up or keep them down. The jacket is light enough that I don't feel the "heavy" feeling of it wearing me down, making it easy to wear it buttoned up or open. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, and so far wore this jacket almost every day!!! I was also happy to use my 10% promotional discount from Jcrew for giving out my email address. (promo offered at local stores 4/10-4/24 for in-store purchases).

In case anyone was wondering, I also took pics of what I was wearing underneath. It's obviously J.crew (come to think of it, I think 95% of my closet is from J.crew). I'm wearing a chambray shirt in coastal blue which is amazingly soft and is exactly what I'm craving for right now. Also, pictured are denim zipper Minnie pants. I scored these at Riversidesquare Mall in NJ on sale for $53.99 (on sale for 59.99 with 10% off). If you are thinking about getting a pair make sure to SIZE DOWN. I'm wearing size 8 (usually I'm between 8 and 10 on the bottom), its hard to tell from this pic but they are very loose in my "behind" area which is NOT cool considering the fact I'm not size 0 to begin with, so the new pair that I just bought on sale is size 6 which fits amazingly nice!!! They are VERY stretchy so don't be afraid to buy 2 sizes smaller, seriously! And, yes I will be returning my original size 8 back, J.crew! I'm also, wearing a J.crew Fireball cluster necklace (item23678A) and J.crew large link bracelet in rose "gold" from last year.

I hope this was helpful and since I've been getting a lot of requests for pictures, I'll try to post more personal reviews of Jcrew items that I own with pictures attached.

Thanks to Marine for letting us know about a recent interview on Oprah with J.Crew's executive creative director Jenna Lyons. Oprah shares with us her favorite J.crew shoes which are the latest styles: Julienne Leather Hills ($198) and my personal favorite Alecia Platform Peep Toes ($275).
Jenna gave us some tips how to rock J.Crew style:
1. Opposites Attract. Jenna rocked mixed prints look by pairing this timeless Vintage Bateau Top ($36) with sequin pants. And she made it work.

2. Make a statement with jewelry. No wonder J.Crew has some of the best chunky, sparkly, eye-catching jewelry – Jenna says she lives for statement pieces. We agree – and think the Crystal Glamour bracelet ($70) and FENTON/FALLON™ for J.Crew Carrington crystal chains necklace ($175) are just beautiful and edgy at the same time.

I must say I love getting styling tips from Jenna because she is just AWESOME! I love that she doesn't follow any trends and just has her own thing going. I finally purchased the Solid Lieutenant Jacket and I just love it. Its very different from what I'm used to (belted or waisted jackets and coats) but the look is sooo J.Crew! The jacket is very light and easy to wear. It goes with pretty much any outfit and fits true to size.

Both are easy to wear, light jackets for spring and great with jeans, shorts. What really throws me off is that only the Lieutenant jacket is listed as "one of our favorites...". Hmm, what's wrong with the Boardwalk jacket? I think I like it more because it's sort of belted for a nice shaply waist line, has cute snaps as details and a nice standup collar. I need help!

I go to check my mailbox and what do I see...???? This cylinder shaped carton box: "Just for you...From Jcrew". I barely made it back to the house to open the box. And inside was this special canvas bag from J.Crew with a THANK YOU card inside. How nice!!!!!! Thank YOU J.Crew!!!

FALL 2010 PREVIEW (INSIDE LOOK)

Here is some inside scoop from nbcnewyork on the latest FALL J.Crew fashion line: "J. Crew showed off a fall 2010 collection of mashed-up textures, jewels and jackets in earthy tones and embellished with a flourish.

Stylelist caught up with creative director Jenna Lyons to get her take on the collection, and she summed it up as "Edie Beale goes to Girl Scout camp," referring to the eccentric woman behind Grey Gardens, with the rough-and-tumble of a happy-go-lucky girlhood summer piled on for good measure.
Olive green and rich brown dominated the color pallette, with creamy tulle, dusty pastel furs, sassy shorts with tights, caramel leather and of course, Lyons' signature sequined sparkle. The jewelry would make a preppy Miss Havisham proud, with carefree styling assembling brooches by the handful, more statement necklaces (hooray!) and stacks of gritty-pretty bangles.
Going back to the summer camp theme, Lyons tasked the hair styling team to think pre-tween locks, the kind you "slept in it for three days and got twigs and flowers in your hair". It's that kind of brilliance (just thinking about those days makes us happy) that makes J. Crew so pitch perfect season after season. "
